Promote What You Love: Pregnancy Edition

I’m officially 27 weeks pregnant and in case you’re wondering Mom, the baby is the size of a rutabaga! Anyone know what a rutabaga looks like? Nope, me either. But my weekly email from tells me that baby boy is 1.5-2.5 lbs and is between 13.6-14.8 inches long. He’s kick kick kickin’ me all the time and I can’t get enough of it.

At almost 7 month pregnant, there have been 5 things that have totally saved my life thus far so I thought I’d share them!

1. The Snoogle!


A lot of people have asked me how I’ve been sleeping now that I’m getting bigger. Honestly, I was worried about this too because I’m a stomach sleeper and having a big belly is not very conducive to sleeping that way. I bought this Snoogle off Amazon and it is AMAZING. It is huge and takes up a lot of the bed, but it totally helps me sleep comfortably on my side. I’ve even caught Ryan taking a nap with this pillow. You look like a big nerdo, but it’s so great to sleep with whether you’re pregnant or not!

2. Pregtastic Podcast


I can’t remember how I found this podcast, but I have learned so much from listening to this super entertaining and informative show about pregnancy and labor/delivery. While unfortunately I don’t think this podcast is still in production, you can still download all of their episodes from a couple years ago on iTunes. Each episode is centered on a specific topic or new moms tell their birth stories. I can’t recommend this podcast enough for new moms!

3. Prenatal Yoga at Holy Cow Yoga Center

The hour that I take prenatal yoga might be my absolute favorite time of the week. Calming, relaxing, strengthening, empowering – there’s nothing better. It’s amazing to see the moms in the class who are about to pop any second continuing to come to yoga each week. PS: This is what I wore to yoga yesterday – tank, capris, and flip flops with no jacket. I love living in Charleston 🙂


4. The Maternity BeBand 

The BeBand is like a version of the BellaBand that you can buy from Target. It helps extend the life of your pre-pregnancy pants by allowing you to wear your pants totally unbuttoned (and unzipped in my case now) without them falling down.


While the BeBand doesn’t work on all of my pants – the low rise pants won’t stay up – I am still able to wear a couple pairs of my pants from last year which is pretty great. Since most of the shirts I wear are long, you never even would know I’m wearing the band.

5. The TummyRub Butter

To hopefully prevent stretch marks, I started using Palmers Cocoa Butter right when I found out I was pregnant. However, I always kind of dreaded putting it on because the smell was so gross to me! I ordered some stretch mark preventative oil and it is just so sticky. Thankfully, I was gifted this awesome TubbyRub Butter and it is a zillion times better! It smells fresh and citrusy, it’s thick without being greasy, and so far it’s working great.


Of course my stomach isn’t done stretching so check back with me in a couple months and I’ll let you know if it worked or not 🙂
