Thanksgiving in Alabama 2016

We got home last night from a fun trip to Alabama to spend Thanksgiving with Ryan’s side of the family. There was lots of porch-sittin’, food eatin’, beer drinkin’, fishin’, and chicken feedin’. Emmett especially loved playing with his older cousin Tanner, looking at the goats, throwing rocks into the pond and riding around on the golf cart! Here are some of my favorite pictures from our trip:

1 Month

Our sweet little Miles turned one month old today!

He has made this first month pretty easy on us. He is so sleepy, quiet and barely ever cries except for when he’s hungry! He’s an awesome eater and is almost (if not already) 10 pounds!

So far he loves eating, sleeping, being on his tummy and getting loved on by his family.

He makes hilarious facial expressions too. I can tell he’s going to be a character like his big brother!

Other big milestones this month: he already sleeps in his crib at night and he drinks out of a bottle if mama feels like she needs a glass of wine (or two!)

Oh little boy…you were always meant to be apart of our family. We all love you so much!

#TBT: 31st Birthday

On Saturday I turned 31. Not a super exciting birthday year but fun all the same! I told Ryan that all I wanted to do was do something outside and have a beer. So that’s what we did! It was a beautiful fall day so we went to a Fall Festival at one of our county parks. Bec, Kelly and some of our friends came too. Chance even got to come! He had just the best time ever.

Emmett and his girlfriend Navah flirted all day and fed each other popcorn. They are so dang cute together!

(Saying “Cheese!” Haha!)

I tried to get a good picture with my boys but this is what it turned out like:

Two sweet boys and an awesome husband makes turning 31 seem pretty great.

Brother Love

I don’t really have any words for how I’m feeling after last night’s election, but it’s not great. In the past 24 hours I’ve felt hopeful, excited, scared, nervous, defeated, shocked and sad. But then my oldest boy learned how to give his baby brother kisses today and all I felt was love.

Views from 2 Under 2

I think I’m going to start a series where I post pictures of the weird moments that make up my day of raising two boys under two. Here’s my first submission:

Halloween 2016

Hope you had a fun Halloween! As you know, Emmett is obsessed with basketball, so a couple months ago I started pulling our costumes together which revolved around Emmett dressing up as a basketball player. Behold: the coach, the basketball, the player, the cheerleader and the “rufferee”!

These pictures were taken before we headed to a neighbor’s Halloween party. We only made it at the party for about 10 minutes before we headed home but it was fun to dress up nonetheless.

Trick or Treating:

Emmett had so much fun following the big kids door to door and collecting candy in his blue bucket. Even when the bucket got really full and heavy, Ryan said he had a death grip on the handle and never put it down!

I love Halloween for a lot of reasons, but one is because it kicks off the holiday season. So many fun things to look forward too in the coming weeks!
