Our First Week

We’ve survived our first week as a family of 4! A big “thank you” goes out to Grandpa Jim and Grandma Barb for watching Emmett for a week so Ryan, Miles and I could get adjusted at home and to my husband for doing EVERYTHING at home to help me while I recovered from the surgery. I’ll post Miles’ birth story in a couple days but I wanted to share some of the photos that I’ve taken since we’ve been home (spoiler alert: there are a lot of Miles sleeping haha).

(This is how Chance feels about another baby, haha!)

Miles’ first meal out after his doctor’s appointment.

Everyone has been asking how Emmett is adjusting to being a big brother. Generally he is pretty indifferent to Miles but I think he’s starting to understand that Miles is here to stay. Emmett will point at Miles and yell “bay!” And last night he waved goodnight and blew Miles a kiss which was super sweet. Today he looked like he might hit Miles with a wooden spoon, so there’s that haha. We are very careful to not leave the two of them unsupervised – Emmett is so little himself that he just has no idea what’s inappropriate to do to a baby!

Miles wakes up like clockwork every 2-2.5 hours at night to be fed. Thankfully both of us can fall right back asleep after a feeding but it’s still a tough adjustment from being able to sleep through the night!

Overall, we are all doing great. I’m feeling much better and am weaning myself off of the csection drugs so I can drive and drink a glass of wine! Yippee!!
